ABOUT US
The award winning Westside Youth Orchestra showcases the musical achievements of its outstanding young musicians in the Los Angeles area. Westside Youth Orchestra’s goal is to provide a high level, well-rounded orchestral experience to musically dedicated young musicians between 10 and 19 years of age. If you’ve never been in an orchestra, then WYO Juniors is for you. The class is open to children between 6 and 10 years of age with a minimum of one year experience on violin, viola, cello, double bass and harp.

We received a 1st Place Gold Award, a Maestro Award, and Most Outstanding Orchestra Group Trophy at the Anaheim Heritage Festivals Youth Orchestra Competition on May 3, 2019. Past awards include Silver, Maestro and Most Outstanding Orchestra Group Trophy
Musical Integrity
Members of the WYO work toward the highest level of musical integrity, respect for fellow musicians, self-discipline and teamwork. The performance repertoire spans from the Baroque era of Johann Sebastian Bach to the film scores of John Williams
Get Involved
Apply to WYO if you are between the ages of 10 and 19, and play violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp, flute, piccolo, oboe, English horn, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, trumpet, trombone, Baritone (Euphonium), tuba, percussion.
Students enjoy class discussions about the composers whose music they are currently preparing for concert performance, the music theory that makes the music what it is, and creative ideas for interpreting how we want the music to sound.
Apply to WYO Juniors if you are between the ages of 6 and 10 and play violin, viola, cello, bass, harp.
